Jonna Both (Anthropologist)

Jonna Both is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for History (Leiden University) and at the at the African Studies Centre Leiden where she is connected to the research programmes Connecting in Times of Duress and Being Young in Times of Duress respectively. Her research focusses on children, youth, conflict, peace, memory, mobility and DDR. Previously Jonna completed a PhD at the Amsterdam School of Social Science Research (AISSR) with a research project about youth in the aftermath of conflict in North Western Uganda. For her master research she conducted research with girls from rural Chad that independently moved to the capital city for work. Currently Jonna works on the Being Young in Times of Duress project in close collaboration with colleagues from the University from Bangui (Dr. Jean Bruno Ngouflo, Marius Crepin Mouguia, Marie-Louise Tchissikombre and Wilfried Poukoule) and Leiden (Prof. dr. Mirjam de Bruijn and Catherina Wilson).
